Look inside your wardrobe and chances are you will find articles of clothing that you have not worn for a long long time.

Recently, a Taiwanese lady was doing some spring cleaning in her room and she found that she had a pair of denim pants she bought for quite some time. She decided to wash it as it was still in its packaging.

Shockingly, her pants dissolved in the water and she decided to share her experience in a Facebook post that has since gone viral.

“Before washing, I put the pants into a washing net and threw it into the washing machine. But after the cycle stopped, I inspected the water and found that it had turned into a very, very, very inky colour, plus there were some threads.

“I thought that this is what normally happens when you wash a piece of clothing for the first time so I washed it a few more times. After washing it for the third time, the water still remained black.

“I took it out and put it in a pail of clean water and that’s when I discovered that my pants had dissolved!” the lady writes in her post.

Seeing as the pants was bought from a reputable shop, she tried to seek an explanation from the store’s customer service team.

“They told me that this situation occurred because I did not wear it for a long time, plus Taiwan’s humid weather may play a part in dissolving the pants. I simply could not accept this explanation,” she wrote.

“Previously when I bought the pants I found that it is the wrong size and put it aside. Today, I took it out and thought I could wash it and give it to somebody who would be able to fit the pants. The customer service representative told me this is a normal occurrence if the pants is not worn for a long time but when I asked them what material is the pants made of, they could not give me an answer,” she continues to write.

“When I communicated with them for the second time, they found my proof of purchase back in 2012 but I do not think that it was so long ago.

“The second customer service representative informed me that the pants is made of denim material with snowflake design. They offered me a discount voucher of TWD50 (RM7.15) with 1 month validity if I continued to support them,” she fumes.

“How can this be? Such an incident is happening just because I did not wear it for a long time? Does this mean that any clothes purchase from the shop must be worn immediately?

“Does that mean the store is asking customers not to buy from them if I’m not wearing it immediately? My friends and family laughed heartily at my predicament. I did not study much, please do not lie to me,” she ends her post.

Netizens couldn’t help but laugh at the unfortunate lady’s situation, with some even commenting that wearing clothes from the store when it rains could cause you to become nude!

Never mind, now she has an excuse to treat herself to a little retail therapy, but perhaps not from the same shop!
