WATCH: Sole Survivor of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning That Took Lives of 3 Others Explains What Happened
The night of 16 September 2020, our nation was hit with tragic news when 3 young girls passed away and 1 got admitted to the ICU due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
The news resurfaced when a viral video that has over 1.6M views and 183.6K likes was posted by the sole survivor of the incident recently. A video of her rekindling the memories she last had with the deceased persons.
However, that video left netizens wondering what actually happened. In response to those comments, the survivor had posted another video explaining the actual reason for the tragedy.
Turns out the girls were not sleeping with the car running, instead they lost consciousness as they were eating in the car.
She stated in her latest video that they weren’t even planning to sleep, they were just chatting in the car before they felt dizzy and subsequently fainted.
“At that time I felt so dizzy, I had to put my food down and just leaned back. The next thing I know I woke up in the hospital. We weren’t even planning to sleep!”
According to the forensic report, the car exhaust had cracked and carbon monoxide leaked through the AC. Because carbon monoxide is odorless, the girls did not realise that their lives were in danger.
When she woke up from her coma a week later, she found out that her 2 best friends had passed on the spot. And her twin sister had passed shortly after.

Here’s to remembering, not the pain of losing them but the love they left behind. And live to realise how precious life can be because the pain could just be a blessing in disguise.
