Skudai assemblywoman, Marina Binti Ibrahim, took to her Facebook page to warn the public of a local man who is using his sick parents to garner donations for his own use.

She wrote, “Beware of this man named Razak, who made an application for assistance to take care of his sick mother.”

She recalls how she met the man in June of 2024.

“A man named Razak contacted me to inform me that he was taking care of his sick mother and father. At that time, I wanted to visit but he did not permit me to. He said to make a visit when he is at home,”

“Then, on June 9, 2024, I rushed to his house for a visit and met (another) man. I introduced myself and said that there was a man named Razak asking for help to take care of his sick parents. The man was Razak’s younger brother, who smiled and seemed surprised,” she said.

It turns out that the younger brother was surprised because Razak apparently never visits or takes care of his sick parents, and that this was not the first time someone had visited them because of Razak’s request for aid.

The next day, Marina made another visit to the house to assist with Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia (JKM) forms. That was when she was informed that Razak had been seeking donations from the public, under the guise that he was taking care of his sick parents and that they were going to lose their home.

“But, the house was completely paid off and belongs to the mother, and most importantly, he NEVER took care of his sick parents,”

“To Razak’s younger brother, I apologise for your brother’s actions. I was informed that this is not the first time he’s done this as he has a lot of debt,” she added.

Marina ended her post by warning the general public to be wary of those seeking donations and to also verify stories before making any donations.
