This is truly shocking news!

According to the Straits Times, an SBS Transit bus driver briefly fell asleep at the wheel while there were still passengers on the bus last June.

He even missed stops on his route and drove into oncoming traffic, nearly meeting with an accident. 

The 27-year-old driver named Nagibullah Raja Saleem apparently began drinking before starting his shift.

He even reportedly drank vodka straight out of the bottle while he was driving the bus!

His driving was so dangerous that passengers yelled at him during the trip, but he ignored them.

Saleem was so drunk, his blood alcohol level was reportedly 2.4 times the legal limit 5 hours after he stopped driving.

Now, Nagibullah has pleaded guilty on Wednesday (7th June) to one count of reckless driving, drink-driving and using the phone while driving.

CCTV footage showed the bus driver taking swigs from a vodka bottle, dozing off, swerving into other lanes and even driving onto the road shoulder.

The footage also showed him using his phone at a red light, and he even continued using it when the light turned green. His hands were also not on the wheel when the bus started to move forward.

He also drove against traffic while on his way to a terminal and nearly crashed into another bus. Police were called to the bus terminal before 9pm that night.

His case is currently being dealt with in court and is expected to receive a sentence hearing on the 5th of July. 

Let this be a lesson for everyone to never drive under the influence!
