We Asians adore boba milk tea and consequently, the bubble tea phenomenon has exploded globally, converting millions of new fans all around the world to the glorious beverage, even in the US as well.

For this California-based bubble tea shop, T4 Boba, they recently suffered from a break-in but decided to have some fun with the robber, painting the situation as a man who took his boba tea addiction a little too far.

According to this tongue-in-cheek announcement by T4 Boba, they said that the man broke in at 3am because he wanted to “get some of that sweet boba goodness” and mentioned that he was so “frustrated” that there was no more boba tea that he made off with the cash register instead.

T4 Boba released the statement after the break-in on Sunday night, posting it on their door with a picture of the man caught on security cameras.

“This guy couldn’t wait for his boba fix and decided to come in at 3 am to make himself a milk tea. Unfortunately for him, we brew our tea fresh every day and don’t keep anything overnight,” the cheeky note read.

“Out of frustration, he decided to take our empty cash register.”

The picture attached shows the man holding the cash register, walking away, unaware that there is no money inside.

The T4 crew continues to show their bubbly sense of humour, ending the statement in a pretty good-natured way and showing the thief some graceful understanding.

“If you see this guy, please kindly tell him to return the register and we will give him a fresh cup of boba milk tea. With love, Downtown T4 Crew.”

Netizens were absolutely entertained by the entire fiasco, as many sympathised with the man’s “craving fueled” heist.

We really have to salute T4 for their great sense of humour even after the robber took their cash register and hope our misguided antihero returns the register and gets himself some reconciliatory boba.

Thankfully for the rest of us, there’s always 7-Eleven’s 24-hour bubble milk tea.
