We’ve heard of double eyelid surgery being done on humans, but on cats? That’s a whole other story!

According to Shanghaiist, a stray cat named ‘Feifei’ (Fatty) has become the subject of adoration among Chinese netizens when “before and after” photos of the cat undergoing ‘double eyelid surgery’ began to quickly circulate online.

The surgery was however, not for cosmetic purposes as one would initially believe. Feifei was found by an animal rights group, who brought the cat to a vet when they noticed something was wrong with its eyes.

Their suspicions were confirmed when the vet found that Feifei’s eyelids were dangerously droopy and were reportedly rubbing against its corneas. This could have caused a terrible eye infection if not corrected.

The vet then performed a 30-minute surgery, transforming the cat’s appearance entirely.
