Pregnant women are often known to experience unusual cravings or emotional urges, ranging from specific foods to unexpected desires that may seem irrational to others.

In a recent incident that captured public attention, a pregnant woman in Bekasi, Indonesia, made headlines after expressing an unusual craving, to be carried by a uniformed police officer, according to news portal Lambe Turah.

The woman, identified as Emi, arrived at the Sukatani Police Headquarters with her husband, Wildan, at around 2:30 PM recently.

Emi was reportedly brought to the police station after she had been crying frequently over several days because her craving had not been fulfilled. Her emotional distress over the unfulfilled wish prompted her family to seek help directly from the authorities.

Police fulfilled her request

Understanding her condition, the Deputy Chief of Sukatani Police, Inspector Rasman, agreed to fulfil the request and proceeded to carry Emi, an act that quickly drew attention both locally and online.

Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Sumarni, later commented on the incident, emphasising that public service should be grounded in empathy and swift responses to the needs of the community.

“We strive to assist members of the public as long as it does not violate any regulations and remains within reasonable limits,” she said.
