Annual bonuses and increments are the most exciting part when it comes to work every year. It’s not just the reward for your hard work but also a motivation to perform better each year.

Civil servants in Malaysia this year, however, will NOT be receiving any Raya bonuses as announced by PM Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently. This is because PMX said the “bonus” had been given earlier this year, as reported by Sinar Harian.

“The RM2,000 incentive I had given earlier this year was for Raya purposes too. That was my good news.”

PMX revealed the absence of Raya bonuses this year when he was at the Ramadhan Bazaar in Mahkota Square, Kuantan, Pahang recently.

He also said the RM2,000 incentive that was given in February was higher as compared to the amount given in previous years. Despite the absence of Raya bonuses, PMX still had a piece of good news up his sleeve.

“Later on, in a few months, we will be approving retirement scheme and an increment for civil servants.”

Earlier, CUEPACS urged the government to grant civil servants and retired servants Raya bonuses so they can make preparations for the upcoming Aidilfitri, which is expected to fall on April 10 (subject to change).
