Malaysians rejoice as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim just announced that highway users will be able to enjoy toll-free travel from 20-21 January 2023.

“This is in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations,” Anwar said in his latest Facebook post that summarised the contents of an earlier weekly Cabinet meeting.

“It’s not only for the Chinese, but for the Malays, Indians and others who will also be participating in the holidays and celebrating in the spirit of unity.”

The initiative involves all types of vehicles and costs the government approximately RM40 million.
