The Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) recently launched a motorcycle patrol squad as an initiative to curb syariah crimes in the state. Taking to its official Facebook page, the department said that the squad is established under its Syariah Enforcement Division and will be making patrols throughout the state of Perak.

Moreover, JAIPk also announced that the motorcycle patrol squad will also be established in every District Islamic Religious Office (PAID) in Perak. The launching ceremony for the motorcycle squad was made in the vicinity of Dataran Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh on Friday (6 January 2023) and was officiated by JAIPk director Harith Fadzilah Abd Halim.

After the launching ceremony, the squad went straight into action in and around Dataran Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh whereby they can be seen talking and mingling with the locals who were in the area. Among the goals of the motorcycle squad is to educate the public on syariah crimes as well as to curb the social ills and moral depravity in the state. Furthermore, the patrols will also be conducted in ‘hot’ areas where syariah crimes may take place.

So, what do you guys think of this initiative by JAIPk? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
