An immersive archive experience that brings British heritage, scent storytelling, and timeless elegance to Malaysia for the first time

In celebration of 155 years of perfumed artistry, British fragrance house Penhaligon’s presents a richly immersive exhibition at Silverfox, Kuala Lumpur, from 15 to 17 August.

“Eau So British, Penhaligon’s 155th Anniversary exhibition, presents the brand’s heritage through immersive scent displays and archival storytelling

Penhaligon’s is more than just a perfumer. Penhaligon’s is a timeless tale, an artisan, and a curator of British eccentricity. Through the exhibition, guests will experience how the brand bridges tradition and creativity from 19th-century grooming rituals to contemporary fragrance masterpieces in a space tailored for both discovery and delight.

Founded in 1870 by Cornish barber William Henry Penhaligon, the brand began as a modest barbershop on Jermyn Street, London, beside the Turkish baths. Inspired by the rich aromas drifting through the air, Penhaligon created his first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet, in 1872 — a scent that remains available to this day.

Since then, Penhaligon’s has earned four Royal Warrants, beginning with Queen Alexandra in 1903, followed by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1956, the Prince of Wales (now King Charles III), and most recently upon his accession to the throne. Today, the brand continues to honour its legacy through signature fragrance pillars including Trade Routes, British Tales, the beloved Portraits Collection, and its latest line, Potions & Remedies.

As part of the exhibition, Penhaligon’s will also present five treasured archival pieces: a Silver Candle Container, Small Silver Fragrance Bottle with Pink Atomiser, Small Silver Fragrance Bottle with Yellow Atomiser, Small Silver Candle Holder, and a Silver-Plated Penhaligon’s Branded Plate — offering a rare glimpse into the brand’s rich and storied past.
