A road rage incident involving a Perodua Myvi driver turned intense after the suspect made vulgar gestures, verbally abused another motorist, and later threatened him with a metal object along a road in Bukit Jambul, Penang.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 11:30 AM yesterday (28 May), according to a viral dashcam video uploaded by a Threads user.

The Myvi driver made an obscene hand gesture and drove recklessly

According to a post shared by the victim’s family member, the Myvi driver allegedly attempted to switch lanes while traffic was moving slowly due to ongoing roadworks in the area.

The victim’s father, who was driving in the adjacent lane, continued driving normally before eventually giving way to the Myvi. However, after entering the lane, the suspect allegedly responded aggressively by flashing an obscene hand gesture and driving recklessly.

Suspect confronted the victim with a metal rod

Unfortunately, the Myvi driver’s anger did not end there. He deliberately sped up before suddenly braking in front of the victim’s vehicle, creating a dangerous situation on the road.

Matters escalated further when the man stopped his car by the roadside, exited the vehicle, and approached the victim while wielding what appeared to be a metal rod or pipe.

The suspect was seen shouting and behaving aggressively towards the victim’s car, causing a tense confrontation.

Netizens urged to help identify the driver

The family member who uploaded the post urged the public to help identify the vehicle’s owner and condemned the suspect’s actions as road bullying.

At the time of writing (29 May), it remains unclear whether a police report has been lodged regarding the incident.
