You know how sometimes you’re in need of help, and a random stranger just turns up like a hero and gives you a hand?

Well, this man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has taken to Facebook to show appreciation for a good Samaritan, a ComfortDelGro taxi driver with a heart of gold who helped him out when he was in a tough spot.

The man shares how on Monday (11 Mar), his heavily pregnant wife was having a bad day and was very upset after a “bad dinner”.

Being a thoughtful husband, he quickly slipped out of the house so that he could buy his wife her favourite dish to cheer her up. He quickly flagged down a cab, but as he got in, he realised that he had forgotten his wallet.

He quickly informed the taxi driver, a kind looking uncle, about his gaffe. To his surprise, the taxi driver was okay with it. After sending him to his destination, the man also realised that he would have to borrow some money for the food as well.

The man sheepishly asked the taxi driver to loan him SGD5 (approx. RM15). The taxi driver was hesitant at first, saying it was “too much” and he also doubted the man’s story.

But after the man pleaded a bit and explained his situation with his pregnant wife, the uncle gave him the money. The man also left his phone in the car as collateral.

After quickly getting the food, he went back to the car and the taxi driver sent him home, where he quickly paid the taxi driver in full.

Showing his gratitude, the man also gave the driver a well-deserved tip. “He deserves a compliment for his great service and understanding my situation,” the man concluded.
