In a short video posted on Twitter, one PAS member went on a vituperative outburst saying that dying during a PAS meeting is better than dying in prayer, because they are in a “perjuangan”.

With another PAS leader spreading sexist dissent in Sik just hours earlier, controversy seems to follow this Islamist party as the nation moves closer towards the General Election.

Here is a video of this PAS member’s outburst.

“Allow me to repeat myself again. We have heard of stories people dying in prayer. We have heard of stories people dying while performing Hajj.”

“These are examples of a good death. In these situations, it is considered a good death, because they died while worshiping God.”

“However, there are better deaths than the ones I’ve mentioned. If a PAS member were to pass away while attending a meeting, he is better than those who died in prayer.”

“Why? Because if he dies, he dies in prayer. We die, because we are in a ‘perjuangan’.”

Netizens were unimpressed with the outburst.

“This is indeed different from what was taught to us when we were younger. There is no hadith that can best explain this logic.”

Let’s hope that the authorities will get to the bottom of this. Before things get out of hand.
