The Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) is ready to meet with the United States (US) President Donald J Trump during his arrival here, which is expected at the end of this month.

PAS Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said that the party will protest Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people, and here’s what the party will do should Trump decide not to meet.

PAS will lead a massive rally as a sign of protest when Trump attends the 47th ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur later this month.

“The person whose hands are still stained with the blood of the Palestinian people”

Takiyuddin said that if Trump visits Malaysia as planned, PAS can meet him as Malaysians. However, if he doesn’t, PAS will stage a massive protest.

“Even in Western countries, people are protesting, let alone us in a civil Malaysia. We don’t want to welcome Trump, a person whose hands are still stained with the blood of the Palestinian people.”

According to Takiyuddin, the act of inviting Trump to attend the ASEAN Summit is deeply regrettable and not in line with the spirit of humanity supported by Malaysians, which calls for an obligation to protest not only against his arrival but also the invitation itself.

“Does a person like this deserve to receive an invitation to a conference of this magnitude, when we are the ASEAN Chairman?”

“On one hand, we sympathise with Gaza, on the other hand, we welcome people who abet the killing of Palestinians. Malaysians cannot accept this,” Takiyuddin highlighted at a press conference yesterday (1 October), as Utusan Malaysia reported.

What do you think of Trump’s possible arrival in Malaysia?
