With snatch thieves and robbers observing banks and neighbourhoods for their next victim, Malaysians have always practiced precautionary methods to prevent this.

Among the precautionary methods are to close their gate immediately after returning home and not getting out from their cars until said gate is fully closed. Though, one Malaysian woman unfortunately did not get this memo.

The 关丹台 Kuantan Complaint King Facebook page recently shared CCTV footage from the porch of a local woman, who was robbed after she had left not only her gate but also her car door wide open upon returning home in Mentakab, Pahang.

Trouble 5

They wrote, “New Year is here! Public security has been good but we still need to be careful when coming in and out.”

“(This happened in) Mentakab, Pahang. After returning home, a woman did not close her iron gate after withdrawing money from the bank. Unfortunately, she was targeted by robbers. After snatching the envelope containing money, he drove away!”

In the video, the woman could be seen pulling into her home after returning from the bank.

She then got down from her car and left her gate and car door wide open as she started drying clothes at the porch.

Trouble 6

Soon after, a white Myvi pulled up in front of her house and the robber walked into the woman’s porch right towards her open car door and grabbed her envelope of cash. She only noticed the robber after he had taken the money and attempted to stop him.

The incident, which took place in broad daylight, was also witnessed by 2 children who was in the car.

Trouble 8

The children could be seen yelling in fear as the woman tried to fight the robber but in the end, he managed to get away with the money.

Many blamed the woman for leaving her gate wide open, saying that she had invited trouble by being careless.

Trouble 4

Trouble 3

“Be smart loh. After withdrawing money, can still leave the gate wide open and enjoy drying clothes slowly. Are you welcoming him to grab (the money)?”

Trouble 2

“She has not sense of safety awareness.”

Trouble 1

“When you drive into your home, don’t you close the gate immediately before getting out of the car?”
