It seems that more Malaysians are calling for the end of the Madani government, with Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the spotlight.

Following recent criticisms from former Prime Ministers Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin over the current administration, another large crowd is expected to attend the Anwar Down Rally (Himpunan Turun Anwar), scheduled to take place on July 26 in Kuala Lumpur.

PDRM anticipates a turnout of around 15,000 Malaysians, with approximately 2,000 officers to be deployed at the scene.

Authorities will be present to ensure the event runs smoothly and to maintain public safety and harmony, including the well-being of participants.

While the police have not raised any objections to the gathering so far, acting KL Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad has urged participants to follow the rules and avoid any form of provocation.

“We will not compromise with anyone who incites provocation. Participants are also reminded not to misuse their freedom of speech by raising 3R (race, religion, royalty) issues.”

In addition, PDRM has advised participants not to set anything on fire during the rally and to avoid excessive use of loudspeakers. Usuf also reminded Malaysians that it is our collective responsibility to safeguard the nation’s peace and security.

Police expect crowds to gather at four different locations before marching to the main venue, Dataran Merdeka, at 2 pm.

According to Berita Harian, police have stated that there is no need for road closures at this time, but closures will be implemented if necessary
