A combination of 16°C air-conditioning in the day, and hell freezing over at night, Cameron Highlands is one of the nation’s true gems and a destination equally popular with visitors seeking relaxation or bonhomie wandering.

But not to a certain few who took to social media, sharing just how expensive it got for them. Taking to Twitter, this netizen shared his experience paying exorbitant prices for lacklustre returns.

Sharing his recent holiday to the famous destination, he shared: “Everything is expensive, up to a point, it is ridiculous.”

“Strawberries dipped in chocolates costs RM3.00 for the smaller ones, while for the big ones, it is RM5.00.”

In his thread he added: “If you want to order ala carte food, it is equally expensive. A lacklustre meal of nasi goreng and telur mata can set you back RM32. There weren’t even enough veggies (seeing that they were in Cameron Highlands).”

This was another factor that he harped on, because the price of veges at Cameron Highlands was too expensive!

“If I am not mistaken, goods like sweet corn, strawberries, and many more are not grown there. They bring it up from nearby towns for people to consume.”

A local confirmed this piece of information.

Many have also uploaded scams they became a victim of while holidaying at Cameron Highlands.

8 004“This happened right before my eyes. For a family photo, I was quoted RM50 for three pictures. Another group came by and the person quoted RM60 for three pictures and RM20 for individual ones.”

“WTH!”

Will this deter you from paying a visit to Cameron Highlands? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
