Time and time again we’ve heard about cases where Malaysians have been refused entry into government buildings due to them not adhering to dress codes. Some government offices and Malaysians alike have since found creative ways to fix their dress code problem there and then, instead of having to go home and change.

But now, Malaysians are in an uproar after seeing how the National Sports Council of Malaysia (MSN) allowed foreigners to dress at their offices.

The @Pulotutui Twitter page recently shared a screenshot of MSN’s Instagram post, where 2 foreigners could be seen meeting with the Director General of MSN, YBrs. Mr. Abdul Rashid Yaakub, at the Majlis Sukan Negara in Bukit Jalil. Though, this wouldn’t be a problem if the foreigners weren’t wearing shorts and a singlet.

They wrote, “Dressing etiquette. Maybe it’s fine because they are Caucasians.”

They also tagged Youth and Sports Minister, Hannah Yeoh, in the post.

The blatant dress code double standard caused an uproar among Malaysians.

Dress Code 4

“If it was our local people, we wouldn’t even be allowed to run errands at government offices. Long live white people.”

Dress Code 3

“This is the type that respects and want to care for the feelings of foreigners. They could have easily reminded them of the dress code earlier. They have to be strict.”

Dress Code 2

“With their singlet, their shorts and even Crocs! From head to toe they are not following dressing etiquette and they can still close one eye for them.”

Dress Code 1

“Save this picture. Next time you’re stopped by a security guard at a government office (over dress code violations), just show them this picture.”

MSN has since removed this picture from their posting and turned off their comments.
