Yet another accident-causing tactic was deployed on Malaysia’s highway.

A netizen named Bala MK recently took to Facebook to warn netizens when taking the Karak highway after a few vehicles got into an accident at kilometre-75.

It appears that some unscrupulous individuals had purposely spilt oil on the road so that cars would lose control at the corner and get into an accident.

Based on the pictures shared by the netizen, at least four vehicles fell prey to this tactic. They most probably lost control of their cars at the corner and hit the guardrail at the roadside.

Moreover, a suspicious-looking container was also found at the scene. It is believed to have been left there by the culprit after spilling oil on the road.

After the post went viral on Facebook, a few netizens who went through a similar incident shared their experience in the comment section.

“On July 2, my friend riding a motorcycle fell down at kilometre-74, exactly the same spot in the pictures posted. The car on the right lane lost control and crashed into my friend. Luckily both the victims were safe. When I walked towards my friend to help him, my shoes became very slippery. It’s very obvious someone had spilt oil on the road to cause this accident. Within five minutes, a tow truck showed up to offer us (their) towing service, which I rejected. Then I found out that a Proton Waja and Perodua Alza both lost control at the same spot at 7pm and 9pm respectively,” a Facebook user wrote.

“It happened to me once. I didn’t even have time to call anyone and the tow truck drivers already showed up,” another user commented.

So guys, if you’re on the highway, please slow down especially at the corners as we really won’t know what’s lying on the road ahead of us. Let’s hope that these irresponsible individuals can get a taste of their own medicine one day.

Also, make sure you have roadside car assistance when you purchase insurance policies. If you don’t, check out this one here.
