The Public Health Malaysia Facebook page took to its profile to urge people to stop throwing cigarette butts from their vehicles, for it could cause fires!

They wrote, “These days, there have been several bush-fires on the shoulder of the road, causing thick smoke that causes traffic disruptions. This is a reminder for travelers going to and from their hometowns this weekend. Don’t throw cigarette butts on the shoulder of the road.”

This is especially due to the fact that it’s really hot outside now, causing the surroundings to be more dry (but no matter the weather, throwing your cigarette butts out the window is just wrong).

“It’s the dry season now. Many areas with bushes on the side of the road has become dry and very flammable. Your act of throwing cigarette butts on the shoulder of the road may cause disaster,” they added.

So, always remember to dispose of your cigarette butts in a more appropriate manner, perhaps inside your own vehicles until you reach your destination and you can throw it out at a proper area.

What do you think about this? Let us know in the comment section.
