With the rising tension among Malaysians of different races in recent years, people need unity more than ever.

Hence, wouldn’t segregating Muslims and non-Muslims in Malaysia cause a further divide?

The sun & moon4view TikTok page recently shared their shock over discovering a laundromat having Muslim and non-Muslim segregated washers and dryers.

They wrote, “What has happened to Malaysia?”

In the video showcased by the page, the washing machines at the laundromat could be seen with signages categorising each machine either for Muslim use or for non-Muslim use.

“Even washing machines now have Muslim and non-Muslim notices. Halal and non-Halal are mandatory, but what is this? Is this an instruction issued by JAKIM? Maybe in the future, we’ll have Muslim money and non-Muslim money,” they added.

What makes this worse is that there appeared to only be 1 non-Muslim washer and dryer while there were multiple Muslim washers and dryers.

Many condemned the segregation while pointing out that with blood or organ donations, there is no such thing as a racial divide.

However, others shared the possibility of non-Muslim clothing having dog fur on it, so the segregation could be to ensure that our Muslim brothers and sisters can wash their clothes without the fear of dog fur contamination.
