Great news, everyone! With the recent hike in parking charges in Genting Highlands, going up to enjoy a breath of cool air can get a little pricey. With the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays, many people tend to take advantage of this time to drive up to Genting Highlands for some fun and relaxation but sometimes, it can get rather congested on the roads.

Luckily, it is even cheaper and easier to go up to Genting Highlands now because they are offering FREE shuttle buses from Selangor straight up to Awana Bus Terminal. In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is having this special promotion that runs from now until March 10. One whole month of free rides!

Based on their Facebook post, you can take the free shuttle bus from the Batang Kali KTM station all the way to the Awana Bus Terminal. The earliest bus going up the hill will start running from 8am and the last bus heading up will be at 7.30pm. Take note!

Don’t worry about being stranded at Awana though, because they have also thoughtfully provided buses going back to Batang Kali KTM station, which will be free as well. Road trip! The schedule for buses going back will start at 8.45am and will continue regularly until 8.15pm.

It is really easy to go straight to the peak as the Awana Skyway is located just nearby and you can take a nice cable car ride up to the top. To get to Batang Kali KTM station, you can head over to KL Sentral and look for the Tanjung Malim to Pelabuhan Klang line. Head in the direction of Tanjung Malim and stop at Batang Kali for some free bus rides up to Genting Highlands. You can check the schedule for the trains here.
