Social media can be an important tool to help find those who are missing or have disappeared.

Recently, TikTok user, Mohd Shafiq, posted a video on the platform in hopes of finding his brother.

In the video he wrote, “Bro, please come back if you see this video. This year marks 20 years since you have not returned.”

It was revealed that Shafiq’s mother was diagnosed with diabetes and has to amputate her right leg. As she’s aware of how her health is deteriorating, she shared her feelings with him and his older brother.

She said that she wishes to see his brother and told Shafiq, “if your brother comes back when I’m no longer around, please show him my grave, so he can visit me.”

In a short interview with WORLD OF BUZZ, Shafiq mentioned that his brother has been away from the family for 20 years ever since he got out of prison in 2002.

He mentioned that his brother was quite mischievous back then and would often get in trouble with the police.

“My dad has to bail him out from the police station every time and one time, my dad decided to not bail him out.”

At the end, he was charged and sent into prison. When he was released in 2002, he left a note saying “I don’t want to trouble my parents anymore” and never came back.

“Technology wasn’t as great back then so we couldn’t find a way to contact him and we’ve lost any contact since,” he said.

Shafiq hopes that his TikTok video would reach his brother and ended the interview by saying “please appreciate your parents and honour them while you can.”

We hope that Shafiq’s video reaches his brother and reunites him with his family before it’s too late.
