In a recent development, Malaysians are expressing confusion about reported entry rejections into South Korea. The incident, shared by Twitter user @TravelJimat, revolves around Malaysian tourists being denied entry into South Korea due to cases of overstaying and illegal work.

The tweet mentions that many Malaysians initially travelled there, but somehow ended up finding jobs, leading to overstaying. This has sparked a considerable amount of outrage on the internet.

In another post, the user mentioned the current difficulty of entering Korea due to being a Malaysian. Three people managed to enter Korea, but two of them had to return back to Malaysia without any clear reason.

The user shared how a group of Malaysians got sent back earlier. Four women took a package tour from a Korean company, and the group had a total of 20 people.

The reason for their early return was that they hadn’t memorised the itinerary and didn’t have enough cash in Korean Won. Even though the tour guide came from Malaysia, they still couldn’t provide much assistance.

Another user, @_modahh, shared her brother’s experience where he went through a two-hour ordeal at Incheon Airport’s immigration area.

In the thread, Hamidah revealed how despite being well-prepared with essential documents like K-ETA, printed return flight details, hotel reservations, and sufficient cash, his entry was denied.

They went to the extent of asking for her brother’s payslip and even commented on how the man’s RM3,000 basic is still considered a small amount and is suspicious.

“Let’s not go to Korea anymore. I’m so annoyed with how they handled the situation.”

“Why has Korea become such a popular destination lately? There are numerous other beautiful countries that offer more worthwhile experiences. The current hype around South Korea seems to stem solely from K-pop. Japan, on the other hand, is an even more enticing destination to explore.”

“Would they go so far as to make you memorize the itinerary? Not everyone has a good memory.”
