M’sian Teacher Rewards Students With Nintendo, PS5 & Custom Family Portrait for Excellent Results in SPM

Recently, an Add Maths teacher, Siva Gopalakrishnan, went above and beyond to reward his students for their excellent results in the SPM examination. Through a heartfelt Facebook post, Siva shared a video and photo capturing the special moments of gift presentations to his deserving students.

On his Facebook post, Mr Siva wrote,

“Well deserved, congratulations to Firman Hakim, Nik Imran, Amir Shaik, and others who achieved excellent results in the SPM examination 2022.”

Understanding the emotional struggle Firman faced with the absence of his father, Mr Siva gifted him a nostalgic oil painting of his family. While nothing can replace what Firman has lost, this thoughtful gesture serves as a cherished memento and a reminder of the love and support surrounding him. Mr Siva’s compassionate act showcases the deep connection he shares with his students.

Amir Shaik, known for his humility and diligence, received a surprise gift from Mr Siva – an eagerly anticipated PS5 game console. Recognising Amir’s dedication to his studies and his love for gaming, Mr Siva felt that this remarkable achievement warranted a reward that would bring joy and excitement to his life. The PS5 is a token of appreciation for Amir’s exceptional straight As and serves as a reminder of his hard work paying off.

Imran, a diligent student who continuously strive for excellence in additional mathematics, was presented with a Nintendo Switch. Mr Siva’s dedication to teaching Imran and his classmates went beyond the classroom, as he would send daily messages encouraging Imran to study and improve his grades. The Nintendo Switch is evident to Imran’s commitment and the trust he placed in Mr Siva as his teacher.

In an interview with WORLD OF BUZZ, Mr Siva, a postgraduate diploma holder in teaching from OUM, shared his teaching expertise in Add Maths and Chemistry. He mentioned being a practical teacher at Maktab Sultan Ismail (MSI)/Sultan Ismail College (SIC), where he taught Add Maths. Mr Siva enthusiastically challenged his students, offering an A-grade PS5 to those who achieved straight As in Add Maths. He proudly mentioned that one of his students, Amir Shaik, successfully met this challenge.

Mr Siva also praised Amir and his classmates, Firman and Imran, for their dedication. They’d frequently seek his guidance through messages, attend extra classes, and eagerly await his arrival for further instruction. 

Concluding the interview, Mr Siva mentioned his current anticipation of an interview call for a permanent teacher position under Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Pendidikan (SPP). He humbly requested prayers for his success in this pursuit.
