Why go through the trouble of finding one when you can rent one?
We have seen people go through extra lengths in hopes of finding their significant other. From advertising on a huge billboard and creating a website, to using vending machines.
Recently, a Twitter user decided to promote himself by creating an over the top presentation, all in an effort to find a partner this coming Chinese New Year!
Twitter user, Arthur Yeow is the mastermind behind this creative pitch. Presenting the slides as if it was an actual business pitch complete with graphs, Arthur even named his make-believe company, “Pain & Co.”
“Renting a Boyfriend. The economical answer to CNY 2022”
He mentioned that he made it out of a massive explosion of chaotic energy, however, we can all agree that he has done an amazing job!
Arthur presented some general facts and even made his own statistics, which he included through a number of charts.
“Parents want a respectable occupation, when youths just want enough sleep.”
His 1st slide highlighted the clear expectation mismatch between what youths want versus what parents want.
According to Arthur, a whopping 80% of young adults get questioned by relatives for not having a partner for CNY.
“Interest begins to increase at 18-25yo and peaks at 26-30yo. Key drivers include: grandparents looking for great grandchildren, CNY chatter fodder and ancestral peer pressure,” he added.
He also mentioned how youths are more price sensitive and pointed out that it might cost a lot dating during CNY. Plus, there’s still a chance of the relationship not working out.
“While affected by global supply chain, there is always a rental market”
Arthur also included some statistics he found himself. One of which said that rental services for CNY partners are projected to rise as there is an 884% increase in rental services search through Taobao.
To sweeten the package deal, Arthur even listed down his bonus points which will surely convince people to rent him this CNY!
“Aunty killer. If you don’t fall for me, she will.”
He even inserted his rate with a special price of RM88/day.
At the end of his presentation, Arthur provided multiple pictures of himself.
“What you want, you can get. Advance reservation required for customisations.”
Girls can choose and reserve any personality they want! From the professional look to even a gym rat look, some looks such as the ah beng look will even require extra charges.
Arthur then ends his presentation with a thank you and said, “Please do hesitate to contact me for further information”.
