MCMC instructed to track Facebook account owner who posted the viral video

According to a report by Harian Metro, Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad shared that his department has submitted an application to the Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in regards to the police report filed by the mother.

“A profiling report application for the Facebook account owner has been made and is still being processed by MCMC. Currently, 2 individuals have been brought in to assist in the investigation,” he said.

He added that the police are also still conducting further investigations into the incident, with the case being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 31(1)(a) of the Children’s Act 2001.

The police confirmed that they received a report from a 37-year-old woman in regards to the viral video that showcases herself and her child.

In the incident, the mum was picking up her twins from a primary school in Seri Kembangan when she had gotten into her car without noticing that one of her twins had not gotten into the car. She had only noticed her child’s absence while making a U-turn in front of the school.

She then immediately stopped her vehicle when she saw her child chasing after the car.
