A man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s reportedly travelled over 600km to cheat on their respective spouses

According to a report by Harian Metro, law enforcement officers had to wait for over 15 minutes outside of the duo’s hotel room and ultimately procured a duplicate key from the hotel’s management, as they refused to open their hotel room door for the authorities.

“Enforcers had to go to the counter to get a duplicate key. However, the couple locked it from the inside using the chain lock. Once (enforcers) successfully entered the hotel room, they appeared fully dressed, but their faces were in a state of shock before admitting they’re not husband and wife,”

“During the inspection, there was a bed sheet used as a mattress on the floor, with a pillow. The man said that he slept on the floor while the woman slept on the bed. They also admitted that they had not done anything wrong, and only slept separately,” a representative of the authorities explained.

The duo claimed that they shared a hotel room as they wanted to save money.

The other 3 couples who were also arrested

The authorities went on to share that a raid of the subsequent hotel room resulted in the arrest of a couple in their 30s, a widower and a single woman.

Additionally, another 2 couples were also arrested, all of whom are in their 20s.

The first duo in their 20s is a woman who came to the state to attend a wedding, alongside a man who came to her hotel room to accompany her, as she was said to be lonely.

The other duo in their 20s had planned to meet after they received their salaries.

They will all be charged under Section 27 of the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1997.
