As humans, we should be kind to each other as we don’t know what others are going through. Just recently, a Malaysian was awarded an appreciation certificate by PDRM in Johor for his brave act.

According to Oriental Daily, this Malaysian was out late at night to look for supper. He mentioned that it was around 12am and he headed out to get some rojak. While he was on the way, he saw that there was a crowd near the beach and decided to go and take a look.

He then saw that police were involved and far ahead was a woman who was attempting to take her own life.

“At that point, she has already been in the water for 15 minutes. She was so far in that only her head was above the waters”, he said.

As the rescue team has yet to arrive and the situation was worrying, he told the police that he could help save the girl and took his clothes off, swimming towards the girl.

“As I was close, I kept telling mari (come here), but she kept swimming away and shouted pergi (go away). I managed to grab her hair and I quickly carried her and brought her back to land”, he said.

He revealed that when he was carrying her back to the shore, she kept crying, screaming and was hitting him asking him to let her go. After she was safely brought back to shore, he only found out that she was of Vietnamese descend. He didn’t bother finding out what her reasons were and after things were settled, he wore his shirt and left.

Prior to leaving, he mentioned that he grew up in a kampung and learned how to swim at a young age. “I’ve saved a friend from drowning when we were playing near a river, as well as a man who accidentally fell into the water when he was fishing. But this is truly my first time saving a woman from taking her own life”, he said.

Kudos to this kind man for his heroic and selfless act & we genuinely hope the lady gets the help she needs and recovers soon.
