A recent post touched the hearts of many Malaysians after a man shared a kind gesture he did for an elderly pak cik he met on a flight.

In a Threads post, Bashir (@bashir_fauzi) recalled meeting an elderly man on a flight and deciding to give up his window seat for him.

It was the pak cik‘s first time flying

According to Bashir, from takeoff until the plane landed, the adorable pak cik couldn’t stop looking out the window.

While chatting with him, Bashir learned that it was actually the pak cik’s first time flying. He added that after the plane landed, the pak cik took the opportunity to thank him for giving up his window seat.

“Thank you, son. I got to see the clouds from above. I don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance to fly again after this,” the pak cik told Bashir.

Reflecting on the moment, Bashir said the window seat felt “far more meaningful” after that day.

“Suddenly, that window seat felt far more meaningful. Some views mean more to others,” Bashir wrote.

“Take every opportunity to do good to others”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Bashir shared a piece of advice that his parents had always reminded him and his siblings, something he’s continued to live by.

“Every day, we are given the choice to either be kind or not to the people around us. So, take every opportunity to do good to others, no matter how small it may seem. We never know which small act of kindness might mean the most to someone else.”
