It’s no secret that Malaysians love Ayam Gunting (fried boneless chicken served either on a stick or cut up into a paper bag). But it appears that not all Ayam Gunting vendors are up to par.

Netizen Nik Amir took to his TikTok page to showcase how he was scammed by an Ayam Gunting vendor, as the Ayam Gunting he purchased only had a small piece of chicken covered by a huge layer of flour batter.

He wrote, “I got scammed first thing in the morning.”

In his video, he showcased how the Ayam Gunting he purchased had initially looked good, but then, the layer of crispy batter slid down the stick, revealing only a tiny bite-sized piece of chicken inside.

And it wasn’t just 1 Ayam Gunting that was like this, it was 2!

When in doubt, tell a joke!

Malaysians had a field day making jokes about the Ayam Gunting. Even a popular water brand got in on the fun!

“Even Ayam Gunting wears baggy outfits these days.”
