Every parent has their very own way of bringing a child up. Just because your ways may differ from each other does not mean it’s wrong. At the end of the day, as long as your child grows up being kind, that’s all that matters.

Recently, a Malaysian shared that her sister-in-law has been complaining about her mother. In her post she said, “My sister-in-law would always complain about my mother on her social media accounts. For the past 2 years, she has been posting posts about how my mother isn’t willing to take care of her child.”

Following that, she revealed that the reason her mother doesn’t help her sister-in-law is because her sister-in-law would always compare her mother to others who take care of her kid. She said that her sister-in-law thinks that the mother doesn’t have adequate skills to take care of her kid.

She then mentioned that her mother has decided to keep her distance from her, but their actions only prompted her sister-in-law to bad mouth her mother even more.

“It’s getting to a point where relatives who doesn’t know what goes behind closed doors would think my mother is a mean in law,” she said.

She then ended the post saying that she feels bad that her mother would have to withstand ‘hate’ from people who were comparing and criticising her in the first place.

Mutual respect is key to a good relationship, and one should not take other people’s effort for granted.

Do you think they were right to distance themselves? Let us know in the comments.
