The Star wrote that during the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police’s “Meet the Customers Day”, the public can settle off their summons for a 50 per cent discount from 24th to 26th December 2019. The event will run from 8.30am till 4pm, so you can settle your unpaid summons during that period.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said,

“We are offering a 50 per cent discount for various types of traffic summonses. We hope that the public will use the opportunity to settle any outstanding summonses.”

On that note, the 50 per cent discount is also valid for “non-compoundable summonses and those attached to ongoing trials”. Adding on, compounds issued during Ops Selamat and accidents are eligible for the discount.

ACP Zulkefly shared that 1,600 people showed up to settle their summons when the discounts were offered during Chinese New Year in 2019.

Therefore, he hopes more people will turn up this time around to pay off their summonses. On top of that, Zulkefly ensured that the KL headquarters in Balai Polis Trafik, Jalan Tun H.S. Lee will have sufficient police staff to assist the crowd.
