Since it’s the least expensive alternative among other sites, many people who work in “lanyard city” next to Mid Valley frequently leave their vehicles parked inside the mall.

Unfortunately, it appears that Mid Valley & The Gardens Mall will be raising their parking pricing on October 1, 2022, according to a post on Xiao Hong Shu.

The new parking rates during the weekdays at the mall for Zone A, C, E, H, as well as The Gardens Mall for Zone B and U will be capped at RM2 for the first 3 hours, followed by RM1 for the 3rd and 4th hour, then RM2.50 for subsequent hours with no maximum charge.

Weekend rates are slightly different where the first 2 hours are capped at RM3, followed by RM1 for the subsequent hours with no maximum charge.

According to Oriental Daily, Mid Valley has confirmed that changes above WILL be implemented on October 1 and any additional information will be announced later on.

Some netizens did the math and expressed that if one were to park their cars there for a good 8 hours, their total parking fee for the day would come up to RM15.50, which is about RM360 per month.

Many netizens also said that the pricing adjustments mostly affects the working class as the weekend rates are still affordable.

What do you think of the pricing adjustments?Ā
