Any songket fans here?
Songket is a traditional woven fabric of Malay people in Malaysia. While this design already looks fantastic on fabric, wouldn’t you like to see your phones decked out in beautiful songket phone cases as well? Well, now you can! This local IG phone case shop, known as H&I Store, just introduced their latest songket collection for only RM29.
H&I Store is an online phone case store that is run by a 24-year-old Malaysian named Hafiz Ibrahim. This young man has been working on his online store by himself since December 2017! While his intricate designs now look better than ever, Hafiz told WORLD OF BUZZ that it hasn’t always been this way. In fact, the H&I Store had to temporarily halt its operations twice since starting out. The first time was due to a lack of knowledge about the industry and capital.
While he continued his business again in 2019, he took another break as he just wasn’t satisfied with the final product. But Hafiz didn’t give up. Fast forward to the present day and he’s finally managed to run his business again with full capabilities and knowledge.
Hafiz said the inspiration behind him starting the songket phone case collection was when he noticed a lack of phone case designs inspired by the traditional fabric. Sticking to the theme, Hafiz gives traditional names to each of his products. You can find the Kemboja, Melur and Cempaka designs in his IG shop!
Hafiz decided to upgrade his previous designs which were made in 2017 with better and elegant colour palettes for the latest version of the phone cases since he didn’t manage to sell the first version four years ago.
He also said he’s currently running the store as a part-time job since he is a final semester student of actuarial science at the University of Malaya (UM).
“I need to handle two things at a time, so I’m doing this as a part-time job for now,” Hafiz added.

H&I Store doesn’t just sell songket designs, there are also several collections that have been released featuring fun and attractive designs like ice cream, jellybean, backyard, and hexagon collections.
