As the cases are on the rise, medical experts have suggested the government review some SOPs and combat the recent contagious variant.

Professor Moy Foong Ming from the Faculty of Medicine at University Malaya, has suggested a few SOP revisions to be made:

  • Limited number of pax for dine-in customers
  • Social distancing between each table
  • Restaurant to make sure there is proper air ventilation
  • Social events such as weddings and festivals should implement mandatory self-test before entering
  • Mandatory mask wearing for outdoors

“Currently, the government encourages all who are attending any social events to perform a self-test, but I think this should be mandatory. If we are able to identify those who are unwell prior to them attending any events, the risk of spreading would be much lower,” she said.

We strongly urge everyone to stay safe by following any SOPs implemented by the government. If you feel unwell, please stay home and perform a self-test or visit a doctor for proper medical advice.
