During the festive season, it’s normal for brands to include different packaging designs to elevate that holiday cheer! And McDonald’s is one of them.

McDonald’s had come up with a Christmas design for their McCafe cups. Puts you in that holiday mood right?

However, the design soon went viral on social media, but all for the wrong reason!

It appears that a cheeky artist gave the cup a makeover by adding two simple squiggles to the design, and that seriously gave a whole new meaning to ‘warmest greetings’.

Yes, the two mittens were transformed to look like someone spreading their cheeks!

Of course, netizens are lovin’ it.

The image soon blew up on the internet and you can bet there are quite the number of people who started adding the ‘hands’ in their very own McCafe cup.

McDonald’s themselves even came out to clarify that they did not intend for their design to be perceived in such a cheeky way.

“Our festive McCafé cups are of mittens not hands. The altered image circulating on social media is the result of someone getting a little cheeky and adding some hand-drawing to a cup.”

Either way, whoever came up with this design has some serious creativity. Props to you for spreading that holiday cheer! 😉

Now, if only Malaysia’s McCafe has this design as well.
