Mat rempit are known for their daredevil nature.  They usually travel in groups and are a disturbance to people in any neighbourhood that they pass through. Most of them are known to be rebellious and are often seen to oppose the law. Naturally, they are the sworn enemies of the traffic police.

In a hilarious video shared by @BenAmirrCopyOri, a group of mat rempit immediately scramble to get away on their bikes as a police patrolman showed up around the new Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge. The group went haywire and dispersed in every direction possible causing the policeman to pause in confusion before he decided which direction he should pursue.

The nostalgic ‘Gerak Khas’ theme song was edited into the video, making the scene A-grade meme quality.

“HAHAHAHAHAHA! THE SONG FITS!”, the poster captioned.

The public was so amused by this video that people are starting to come out with their own takes on the scene, set to different soundtracks. It became a meme!

1.Didi and Friends – Semut Berkawad

2. Run

3. Spongebob – Grass Skirt Chase

4. Roda-Roda Kuala Lumpur Theme

Hope you enjoyed that! Who knows, maybe the police will be able to finally catch at least one of them.

Rumors has it that the police are still chasing them. LOL
