Married Couple Found Charred in Car That Caught Fire After Being Hit by Drunk 28yo Porsche Driver

A husband and wife were found charred inside their car yesterday (14 February) at around 12:55am, after the couple became trapped in their Proton Preve.

The deceased couple, aged 34 and 35, were hit from behind by a Porsche Cayenne. All parties were travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan before the accident, which occurred at KM134 Jalan Kuala Lumpur–Kuantan in Temerloh, Pahang.

The 28-year-old luxury car driver was reportedly drunk at the time

The married couple died on the spot after their Proton Preve skidded off the road shoulder and caught fire. According to Temerloh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bin Bahron, the drunk driver sustained minor injuries to his arm and is currently under police custody until 17 February.

“The bodies of both victims have been sent to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HoSHAS), Temerloh, for post-mortem.”

“Blood and urine samples from the driver have been taken for toxicology analysis and are currently awaiting results,” Nasyim said.

The case is being investigated under Section 44(1)(b) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police are urging members of the public who witnessed the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.
