The Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia Drone Unit has been helping the PDRM in Perak in ensuring the public follows the PKPD regulations set. The operations Unit Officer, Ahmad Muafiri Mohamad, as reported by Utusan, said that the purpose of monitoring using this drone is to ensure that the community in Ipoh fully complies with the PKPD SOP. He elaborated,

“When monitoring using drones in an area, if we detect violations of SOPs such as group activities, we will take videos or photos and channel them immediately to the Ipoh IPD for further action.”

Because of this initiative, a culprit was caught on video trying to cross a PKPD barrier with his bicycle. From the video shared on Info Roadblock JPJ/Polis Facebook page, the man in yellow is seen lifting his bike over the barrier set up on a flyover to cross to the other side. However, as soon as he realised his actions were recorded by a drone hovering above him, the man decided to stop whatever he was doing. He then immediately rode his bicycle to where he came from. With the country going into a full lockdown starting 1 June, we hope that things will finally get better soon. However, this can only be possible if every one of us can do our part and stay home. Let’s do this everyone!
