It’s never easy to bid farewell to a loved one, and it’s equally tough if you know your days with your furry friend are numbered.

Recently, in China, a cat owner figured that he might not have much time left to spend with his cat. In order to hunt for a new cat owner so that the cat won’t go hungry, the owner decided to leave it at the doorstep of a cat cafe.

When the operator of the cafe arrives and saw the abandoned cat in a bag, she was not happy as she thought it was a case of abandonment. However, a piece of yellow note attached to the bag changed her mind, and her anger immediately turned to heartbreak. The written note revealed that leaving the cat at the doorstep was his last resort as its owner has fallen ill, with his fate hanging in the balance.

“I just found out my tumor has worsened, so I’m in a rush to look for a new owner for my cat. I know this is irresponsible, but I see no other options.”

According to the written note, the cat has been vaccinated three times and he hoped that his furry friend can seek shelter at the cat cafe.

“If I make it, I’ll come for my cat sometime next month. I’m sorry for the trouble.”

The Paper reported that the owner did not leave any contact information, and as the cafe does not have surveillance cameras installed, the effort to contact the cat owner is impossible.

“Tell me you’re lying”

The cafe operator posted the incident online and it has touched the hearts of many netizens. As for the cafe operator herself, she had an emotional message for the owner.

“I’ll take a good care of it, but you have to come and visit your cat, and tell me you’re lying, you’re not even ill, okay?”

She also “told” the cat owner to hang in there and believe in miracles, and said that she’ll wait with the cat for his return.

It was definitely tough for the cat owner to come up with the decision to leave his cat. At the time of writing, the owner has yet to return and visit his cat. One can only hope that he’ll recover and make his way back to his cat.
