Ever wondered how much you’ve spent on online shopping? With how convenient and ubiquitous e-commerce platforms such as Shopee are these days (especially with movement restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic), it’s pretty much have replaced physical stores as the go-to place to buy everything you need; even groceries. Hence, the total amount that we’ve spent on these online portals should be pretty high.

But how high though?

Well, currently there are no specific option within these e-commerce platforms to calculate the total amount you’ve spent, but if you’re a regular Shopee user, a Malaysian has created a tool that you can use to easily find out the grand total you’ve spent on the platform!

Ok, ni saja2… saya buat javascript utk kira berapa total spent kat shopee.UPDATED: Sebab ramai yg nak guna script…

Posted by Ahmad Saiful Bahri on Tuesday, October 5, 2021

Created by Ahmad Saiful Bahari, his Javascript code will automatically calculate the total amount of your completed orders within Shopee simply by entering the line of code when you open the Shopee website on your browser.

Here’s how to use the code:

  1.  Copy Ahmad Saiful’s line of code here from the github website.
  2. Open Shopee on your PC’s browser (preferably Google Chrome) and login to your account.
  3. Right click anywhere on the Shopee website and select ‘Inspect element’.
  4. There will now be a new window on the right of your browser with all the elements and code of the website you’re viewing.
  5. Go to the ‘console’ command at the bottom of the window, paste the code and press enter.
  6. The code will now run and list down all the purchases that you’ve made on Shopee.
  7. After all the items are listed down, the code will then automatically calculate the total amount you’ve spent on Shopee!

I may have spent too much on shopee…

Pretty simple right? Do note that if you ordered multiple items within a single order, only the first item would be listed.

Furthermore, you don’t have to worry about security or any data leak because the code will only alter from Shopee website’s API locally. In other words, it’s totally safe. The only thing not safe about the code is that after you find out the total amount that you’ve spent on Shopee, it would probably give you a heart attack! 😛

Have you tried the tool? How much is the total amount you’ve spent on Shopee? Feel free to share it with us in the comments!
