The Great British Bake Off is one of our favourite shows to watch and this season, we had our eyes on a very specific baker the whole time. The Malaysian-born Syabira.

And we’re so delighted to find out that she won!

Taking to their official Instagram page, The Great British Bake Off showcased the crowning of Syabira as the winner.

Bake 1

Based on The Great British Bake Off’s website, Syabira moved to the UK in 2013 to pursue her PhD (brains, beauty and baking skills!) and has now happily settled in London with her boyfriend.

She only started baking in 2017, with a red velvet cake, which had reminded her of the the desserts she shared with her friends back here in Malaysia.

Bake 3

Showcasing her love for Malaysian flavours, she infused them British classics, with a particular favourite being chicken rendang cornish pastries.

Many have since expressed their happiness over her win!

You can check out the video of Syabira being named the (well-deserved!) winner of the Great British Bake Off here

Congratulations, Syabira! We hope to, one day, get a taste of your chicken rendang cornish pastries!
