Budget 2018 has by far been rather full of interesting additions and promises.

The latest addition to Budget 2018 would be the Fundamental Funds where RM200 will be allocated to every Malaysian babies born starting from January 2018 until 2022.

The funds will be given through the Amanah Saham at Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).

Our beloved Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak made the announcement at the parliament on October 27, 2017 that the scheme was the first of its kind, Harian Metro reported.

This new scheme is called Amanah Dana Anak Malaysia 2050, or ADAM50 was designed with the future children in mind.

More details regarding this brand new benefit has yet to be released. Hopefully, we will get more good news regarding this new perk.

Besides the brand new aid, more money has also been channeled towards funding for the education system.

The prime minister who is also the Finance Minister, told the press that the government has also allocated RM250 million for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) sector – particularly to set up centres for this sector.

According to him, the centres are meant as a newer and more advanced learning tool whereby teachers can easily use the facilities for teaching.

The funds are also to help improve the computer science syllabus in schools including the addition of coding in the primary and secondary school curriculum.
