Do you guys remember that scene from the movie Sepet where the Malay gal went into the Chinese shop? What ever happened to those times.

What would you guys do if you saw this scene playing out?

Recently, twitter user Shameera Idlyn went to a Chinese store with her boyfriend to buy some food, reports Mothership.

The food they were buying contained pork and with them being Malay, there were a few judgmental stares directed towards them, according to Shameera.

But the thing is they weren’t buying the food for themselves! No, they were tapau-ing the food for an elderly Chinese uncle who seems to be known among their circles, looking at the Twitter replies.

That’s actually pretty darn heartwarming, don’t you guys think so?

Most people were very touched by the gesture and praised the couple for their kind act. Their video also proved that we should never judge a book by it’s cover.

But there were a few that lamented the fact that they even bought food with pork and said “buy halal food for the man also can wat..”

Either way the couple does deserve the highest of praise, maybe us Malaysians should emulate such kindness, especially now with the ongoing racial tension.
