Tourism Minister, Tiong King Sing, is once again in the spotlight after he and Masjid Tanah MP had a back-and-forth argument during yesterday’s (November 6) Dewan Rakyat session.

In a clip from the session shared by Malaysia Gazette, the Tourism Minister allegedly invited Masjid Tanah MP, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin, to “fight outside” after they had argued over her interrupting him and insisting he answer her question.

They wrote, “Tourism Minister, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, failed to control his emotions when the Masjid Tanah MP, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin, pressed for answers on several issues raised.”

This all started when the Masjid Tanah MP interrupted the Tourism Minister’s speech to ask a question, and insisted he answer her immediately rather than waiting for Parliamentary written responses.

Tiong then told her that he would answer her question in the Parliamentary written responses, to which she replied, “There’s no need for that, this is something basic, Yang Berhormat.

They went back and forth on this before the Masjid Tanah MP finally agreed to the written response and told Tiong to relax, as he was getting agitated. Being told to relax did not relax him and the two proceeded to have another back-and-forth about why Tiong was not answering the question immediately.

Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker, Alice Lau, then stopped them and told Tiong to proceed with his speech.

Tiong continued his speech then stopped, as he realised and pointed out that he was re-reading parts he had already gone through. He said, “Because of this disturbance“, which caused laughter among the others present.

Masjid Tanah MP then interjected again, causing Tiong to ask, “Want to fight?“. She responded, “Can“, to which he said, “If you want to fight, (we’ll meet) outside, later.

M’sians believe Tiong behaved poorly and took to social media to condemn him.

“A gangster that became a minister, his attitude has not changed.”

“Low class attitude.”

They also pointed out that, not only was he merely reading his speech from a stack of papers, but also that his reading was BAD.
