DAP chairman, Lim Guan Eng, is currently calling out a local airline for allegedly failing to inform passengers of flight delays.

Taking to his X page, the former Penang chief minister shared that he ended up missing an event he was supposed to attend because Firefly staff neglected to inform him and fellow passengers of a close to 3-hour delay of their flight from Subang to Penang on Thursday (December 5).

He wrote, “Firefly flight delayed for nearly 3 hours. And, I waited in Subang at a total loss because they did not change the screenboard (to show) that it was delayed. Departure was still stuck at 7:25am until I queried them.”

It is unknown how long Lim waited past the departure time before asking about the delay.

“My Firefly flight from Subang to Penang was delayed twice this morning, the second (departure) timing (was changed) to 9:50am, making me miss my appointment. So frustrating that Firefly lacked the basic courtesy and professionalism 101 to inform its passengers earlier.”

He went on to explain that others also had to change their plans

“Not making it for the NationGate event with Nvidia at G Hotel in Penang hurts embarrassingly. Like me, many passengers burned their flight and return tickets. Pity my comrades who had to deal with this incompetence from Firefly through no fault of their own,” he added.

WORLD OF BUZZ has since reached out to Firefly for comment but has yet to hear back.
