Imagine your frustration when you get home from work to your condominium, apartment, or flat only to find that the elevator isn’t working. No one would be happy about having to take several flights of stairs, especially if they’re someone with disabilities or the elderly.

Many would blame the building’s management and their lack of maintenance but, is that always the case?

The Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK) took to their Facebook page to showcase how residents of the Pak Mahat flats vandalise and spoil the elevators despite how many times the management has fixed it. Some of them even bring their motorcycles into the elevator.

Flat 2

They wrote, “No wonder the lift at the Pak Mahat flats is constantly spoiled, vandalism among the irresponsible residents to a point where some of them even bring their motorcycles into the lift. It has been fixed many times but it still gets spoiled again.”

Flat 5

These residents either do not realise or do not care that their actions spoil the elevator and create constant inconvenience for the more vulnerable residents.

Flat 3

“This is troublesome and dangerous to the lives of the elderly, residents who are sick, children, pregnant mothers, and the disabled. They don’t think about the safety of others and are not grateful for the facilities that have been provided to them,” MPK added.

Such behaviour is truly irresponsible and should not be tolerated, especially if it is a reoccurring offence!

We genuinely hope that the authorities and the flat management take the appropriate action against the irresponsible residents, for the sake of the well-beings of their other residents.
