Considering the horrific scenes that have followed this year, it appears that there won’t be much New Year’s cheer to welcome 2024. And it’s justifiably so.

But, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t other activities you can participate in. It just means that there will be a little less fireworks this time around.

KLCC The Place took to their Instagram page to announce that they have axed their annual fireworks and New Year’s Eve party this year and invited the general public to spend that time in a different way.

They wrote, “We’ll be bringing in the new year a little differently this year as we stand in solidarity with so many going through unimaginable challenges and difficult times across the globe. There will be no fireworks or New Year’s Eve party at KLCC The Place this year.”

“Instead, as 2023 comes to a close, we’d like to invite you to spend some time with us winding down in KLCC Park and contemplating while at the Lake Symphony Fountains before we light the PETRONAS Twin Towers at midnight as a symbol of our shared journey and our hopes for the coming new year.”

With the appalling things that many people have endured and are still experiencing, there really isn’t a mood to celebrate. Hence, a little reflection does sound like the perfect way to transition into 2024.
